For the eco-friendly snooder...

I was contacted today and asked if I could make a snood out of a natural, unbleached, and undyed linen.


So, for the eco-friendly snood wearers--unbleached, undyed linen snoods comin' at ya soon.  Stay tuned!

Brocade Breakthrough...

Brocade is a very high-maintenance fabric.

It's slippery.
It's stubborn.
It's stretchy in its own weird way.


It's...beautiful.


I cannot WAIT to do a photo shoot with the black and silver brocade snood.

It's so pretty I don't even want to put it away for the evening.




Back to sewing.  I think I'll be burning the midnight oil again tonight.

But I do.



Had a chance to pick up some pretty cute fabrics today--and one of those is an absolutely exquisite brocade.

I.  am.  excited.

Photo Shoot and New Fabric...

Today I did a photo shoot of the latest snoods.

I love combining two things I very much enjoy--photography AND snoods!  Here are a few shots from today:

While doing the photo shoot at the home of a friend, another friend came over--a seamstress--and she had a box with her.  She said it was for me, and I was not expecting this kind of surprise at ALL!  Yards and yards of white linen, dupioni silk, and a floral cotton print.  I was extremely grateful and very excited! 


So, the next few nights will be spent working on snoods in the new fabrics--plus I was already planning on picking up a few new fabrics tomorrow as well.

Rosettes!

I've attempted to make rosettes numerous times.

I've attempted to make rosettes many different ways.

Epic failures.



Tonight, though--tonight I made a rosette.

And it's perfect.



And I only stuck myself a total of seven times.

Only six of those actually drew blood.



Tomorrow I plan on posting the latest snood:  gray cotton with a black and white rosette and vintage-style centerpiece.
